This petite beauty at one time served as an “in-between” table between two armchairs in our former home's master suite sitting area. Lovely to look at, it perfectly complements a space that is in need of a splash of globally-inspired chic. The tabletop starts with a round center point where the gorgeous teak wood grain takes center stage. The next “layer” is that of profusely hand carved petals that look like swirled shells with delicate vines and small leaves surrounding the petals throughout. The next “layer” is a simple braided or scalloped foliate border. The outer “layer” is a whimsical carved thicker foliate border that serves, as a frame of sorts, to the tabletop. It’s astonishing array and complexity is a testament to the sheer skill of the artisan carver; can you say oh là là! Beneath the tabletop is a simple banded apron that does not interfere with the tabletop’s splendor. The sinuous cabriole legs, with pad feet, have a scalloped apron at the top of each leg. Right below this apron is a V-shaped hand carved motif of the petals that look like swirled shells that is on the tabletop but on a smaller scale. It measures 22” x 16” D/H and weighs approximately 10 lbs. Well cared for and in excellent condition with minimal use wear. Its petite proportions and stylish presence will add charm wherever you decide to place it!
