Handsome pair of rattan rolling Chinese Chippendale accent chairs from Wicker by Henry Link. They are in fabulous vintage condition. They wear a pastel floral fabric on their removable seat cushions (which we believe to be a new seat covering and maybe a bit to big). The rattan may have some age-related wear but nothing outstanding that we have observed. These are priced as needing recovering. Please see photos. Circa 1960s-1980s.
Looking for that “just perfect” pair of accent chairs? Here they are. Rattan with a Chinese Chippendale design flair and on casters to boot. They are by the notable furniture company, Wicker by Henry Link. Their backs feature that Chinese Chippendale angled design but done in rattan it almost takes on a modern look. The rattan has a dark walnut coloring which sets off the pastel floral cushion beautifully. However, I imagine these cushions being redone in a gorgeous linen tweed or mohair. The brass ball casters make this set of chairs easily moved from place to place making them particularly useful indeed. Use them at a breakfast table, a game table, or just as extra seating wherever needed. Their classic styling will blend with absolutely any design style you may have.
Wicker by Henry Link was founded, needless to say, by Henry Talmadge Link (1889-1983). Link, who had been an investment banker in Lexington, NC, and New York, organized the Dixie Furniture Company in 1936. He soon associated himself with his nephew, J. Smith Young, and son-in-law, E. Bruce Hinkle, founding Young-Hinkle, a model factory, in 1962 and Dixie-Linwood in 1972, with Wicker by Henry Link in 1964. He is known for introducing mass production to the furniture business. Wicker by Henry Link is today being operated by Lexington Home Brands as the Henry Link Trading Co.
