This Marc Chagall rare vintage 1958 first edition lithograph print " Banks of The Seine " 1953, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print is printed in Japan in 1958. The hand tipped lithograph print is a page from an authentic vintage 1st edition artists publication, published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. New York. The vintage lithograph print features an artwork image originally created by Chagall in 1953 titled " Banks of The Seine ".
Marc Chagall ( 1887 - 1985 ) The French Russian born Jewish Expressionist artist is known for both his sense of color and his fluid aesthetic. His early Modernist artworks explore concepts and themes of spirituality, angelic influences, and the Jewish cultural life human experience. Chagall is commonly regarded as the quintessential preeminent Jewish artist of The 20th Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color, and creations in nearly every medium and form of art won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art.
The lithograph print plate image measures 7 1/4" W X 8 1/2" H, on a page backing that is 8 1/4" W X 11 1/2" H. The print is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on 3 corners. There is unrelated text on the reverse back side of the page that refers to a different artwork image.
The rare out of print lithograph print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling to the page backing. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
