Yamantaka is a Buddhist deity with a wrathful appearance of a boar or buffalo, usually black or dark blue in color. Associated to Vajrabhairava and one of the fierce meditational forms of Manjushri. The terrifying aspect is typical of the protectors of the Dharma. In fact Yamantaka is considered one of the most important “dharmapala” in Buddhism and the God that can destroy death. The practice of Yamantaka focuses on the goal of meditation and his power to guide us towards our journey to enlightenment.
