This David Hockney rare vintage 1977 iconic lithograph print custom framed Pop Art exhibition poster " Self Portrait with Blue Guitar " is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print exhibition poster is published by the famous Andre Emmerich Gallery Inc. New York, printed in 1977 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition, copyright 1977 Poster Originals Ltd. #216. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Hockney in 1977 titled " Self Portrait with Blue Guitar ".
David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. he is an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim internationally than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the worlds most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print framed lithograph print Pop Art exhibition poster measures 27 3/4" W X 25 3/8" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern royal sky blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. There is some light surface wear to the lower bottom text margin area. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference.
