Comes from a rare First Limited Edition art folio published by Albert Skira in Geneva, Switzerland, in the 1940s. Signed in the print at the lower left corner: "G.Braque". Printed on one side. Numbered at the lower right corner: 6. Detailed. Vivid colors. Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never framed.

For several years Braque had been reverting to the object as such, handling it with a certain respect for visual appearances. Here, instead of re-creating the object in terms of its essential forms, he re-creates it solely in terms of its texture, all roughness and unevenness included. The result is intense vitality and gorgeous color.
