Beautiful hand-carved stool or bench made by the Ashanti People of Ghana, West Africa. It's carved from one piece of wood and has great openwork which is a learned skill and passed down over many generations. They are also known as the Asante People and they were the largest and most powerful of a series of states formed in southern Ghana by People known as the Akan.
This stool is great for the boho chic and gypset. It can work in a myriad of settings from traditional to eclectic to modern to contemporary to tribal to Bohemian. Great in a bathroom with rolled towels, a bedroom for a book, an extra seat, in front of a wall of glass and a multitude of other ideas.
