Absolutely charming vignette of two boys putting up lanterns at a doorway. Obviously Chinese door with guardian foo lions and building facade. The whole polychromes in muted colors of rust and browns with forest greens. Animated expressions, detailed brick, climbing vines, wood grains, and worked in the round to be freestanding or to hang on a wall. hanging hole in the back wall. Thick-walled construction and formed by hand as seen in the interior handwork, (interior photos). The surface hand painted. The size is 8.25" by 5" deep, the height is 11.5". The pocket has a very good weight and a good feel in the hand.
