Antique exterior sheet metal wall-mounted lantern dating from the early 20th century or before. Although its origin is unknown, it is a French-style light fixture that likely was converted from gas to a single-bulb electric fixture. It has more recent wiring and is in working condition. However, as with any older fixture, it needs to be checked out by your electrician before installation. It has some crustiness, a bit of rust, and some metal losses around the panes. (See all photos.) However, the panes are new glass and fit well. There is a working door for access to the bulb. There is more recent paint over the older black paint. Overall, it is in good antique condition, sturdy, and ready to use.
