This is a rare pair of rope slung stools by designers Hendrik van Keppel and Taylor Green, better known as Van Keppel-Green or VKG, / V. K. G. . Manufactured in California, circa 1950s.
Van Keppel-Green furniture was heavily featured in Julius Shulman's documentation of the Case Study House program. Photos of Case Study #22, Pierre Koenig's Stahl House in the Hollywood Hills, feature the coordinating chaises in this collection on the outdoor patio.
