Interior is oak lined. Missing handle on one bronze door handle (bottom left) and replaced, please see image. Slight damage and old repairs to the varnish as well as some scrapes, scratches, scuffs, and cracks from age. Some loss to veneer and finish. Signs that veneer had bubbled and was restored at least 100 years ago. Comes apart in three sections: the top crown molding, center, and bombe bottom. The lock for the door works and the key works as a handle. Will be happy to provide more closeup images upon request. less

Traditionally, linen presses were designed to be storage cabinets for storing sheets, table-napkins, clothing, and other textiles. They were often designed to be prominent furniture in a bedroom. This one has ornate carvings such as scrolling acanthus leaves and floral swags with ribbon. It has three lower bombe drawers with brass pulls. A spacious cabinet with plenty of storage space. Eight shelves were added later and can be modified to meet one's storage needs. It is impressive and ready to store just about anything: shoes, handbags, books, dishes; and textiles. less
