What a … more This gorgeous dresser jar has seen three different centuries. Made by Samson and Mordan and stamped London 1897. What a treasure. This lead crystal cut jar is cut in geometric shapes and sparkles in the light. The sterling silver lid has an empty cartouche so that you may add any monogram that you wish, that is RARE to find. The craftsmanship in the silver with the Repousee birds and beautiful scrolls and florals is so lovely. Inside the lid once removed you can see hallmarks on the top of the lid, assay marks are also found on the outside back of the lid. Inside the lid is missing a small part of the hardened paste to keep a good seal. It lifts off easily. This doesn't detract from the sterling. The inside of the glass rim has a hairline. It is covered by the sterling silver lid. We try to point out all the flaws no matter how small and photograph them under high magnification. We are more than happy to answer any questions.
