It is in excellent condition … Read more A period French naval officer's bicorn hat dating from the Napoleon III period, circa 1860. It is in excellent condition made of wool with extensive brass braide a perfect naval button and a tricolor rosette. It bears the mark "BL Marque Depose" on the interior hat band. It is accompanied by a pair of heavy brass epaulettes with all of their attachment fixtures still in place. The three pieces are in their original paper lined wooden box with its original hardware. A true time capsule. It was found in Paris. The box measures 21.5" x 7.25" x 8", the hat 17" x 7" x 5.25, and the epaulettes 7.5" x 5" x 2.5". See less
