Lanterns are … Read more Pair of vintage Mid 20th Century Chinese palace lanterns with embroidered dragons and flowers on red satin fabric. Lanterns are constructed of carved wood frames that collapse flat and feature red and gold tassels, green faux jade balls and wire hooks for hanging. They measure approximately 17” in width and depth and 21” tall ( 32” including tassels). Ubiquitous to Chinese restaurants from the 1950s to 1990s as symbols of prosperity and good fortune, few of these lanterns survived. This pair is in remarkably good, clean condition with some imperfections, including glue marks around the embroidery. See less
