It can be mounted to a ceiling and also a wall and can rest on a surface as shown on top of a 7 foot cabinet. It provides a lot of light yet you can remove bulbs to lessen its brightness. The acrylic prisms mimic crystal prisms from Venini in Italy. The light has been rewired and cleaned and is ready for plug into a wall outlet as well ready to be hardwired; the electrician considered both options. Resting on top of this cabinet, we use its line switch the electrician added to its new wiring. See less
