Created in China during the 19th century, this elm armoire features a thin cornice resting upon a perfectly organized façade, showcasing four removable panels sitting above three drawers and a pair of double doors. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the carved accents showcasing architectures and animals in landscapes, highlighted with traces of gilding and standing out beautifully on a red lacquered ground. Once removed, the panels reveal inner shelves offering convenient storage space. The three drawers, carved with foliage motifs, are fitted with c-scroll handles while the lower doors present a bronze medallion echoed from the upper panels. With its large proportions and delicately contrasting colors, this Chinese Qing elm armoire will be a great decorative addition to any living room or bedroom. less
