Born in China during the 19th century, each of this pair of display cabinets features an open shelf in the upper section, adorned with painted motifs on the lower rail and sitting above a pair of double doors. The lower part of each cabinet attracts our attention with its hand-painted chinoiserie scenes, presenting characters set among traditional structures. The lighter tones of the hand-painted scenes, highlighted with red and blue green accents, stand out beautifully on the dark brown color of the cabinets. Fitted with brass medallion-style hardware, each door opens to reveal two inner shelves offering great storage opportunities.
