Worth of illuminating the front door (inside or out) of a Julia Morgan mansion. Or your modest home.

The "cage" is made of cast iron and has details that could only have been "Made in America" --
fake rivets and hammer marks! We sure know how to cut corners. Quite effective, nonetheless and boy did they ever save on production costs.

Clearly the designer was immersed in the lore of the Arts and Crafts movement, hence the adorable hobbit-house results. And doesn't that canopy seem to have been influenced by a Louis Sullivan door surround?

Beautifully constructed and fitted with an old brass socket, perhaps original, which sports a ball-pull on the end of the pull chain which you can use or not, once it's been hooked up to your wall switch.

Rewired with black cloth-covered wire, in the spirit of the "not-wrought iron."

Pure magic.

Dimensions: about 8 inches side to side at the bottom of the light, which is about 6 3/4 tall; the whole affair hanging about 25 inches long as shown (links can easily be extracted to shorten this). See less
