This Armillary Heliocentric Sphere is a scientific instrument that was used to demonstrate the heliocentric model of the solar system, which places the sun at the center of the universe. The sphere was created by French cartographer and globe maker Charles-Francois Delamarche in the last quarter of the 18th .
The Earth Orbc in the form of C contains a small Earth connected to the Sun by a mechanism with pulley to maintain its constant inclination throughout its revolution around the Sun.
