A tissue printed sheet pattern, applied under the glaze, in shades of black and gray on a white stoneware body showing nice bluing. A set of four, each plate varies slightly in intensity of color.

Impressed on the verso, ‘Read Ironstone’ attributed to Jonah Read – Hanley, Staffordshire, England, circa 1833–1839

Measures: 8.0 in. diameter x 1.0 in. height.
Very good antique condition, the expected very light roughing to the rims. One plate has a small loss to the footing, not effecting the seating. Stilt marks are a kiln effect. less
