It is about 3" and could be easily repaired but we left it as we figured you will likely reupholster both. Suede is in great shape for it's age, minor stains and blemishes but could be used as is. Polished stainless steel has typical scratches from use and light knicks / blemishes. Still looks fantastic and structurally both are built like fortresses. less

Highly polished steel frames, very heavy and robust, fantastic sleek design - maintain original burnt orange / rust colored suede. 3" tear in one of the seats that could be repaired if you like the fabric, but we would recommend reupholstering both. Polished stainless in great shape, typical wear and scratches. Groovy and sleek at the same time, elegant 1970's / 1980's design at its best, top notch quality from Brueton Industries as always. less
