Ivana Milosevic creates vibrant, pulsing cityscapes that emphasize color and texture. She uses palette knives and brushes to carve building structures into layers of paint. Small shadows of human figures populate her city streets, adding a sense of familiarity and bustling life. A practicing architect as well, Milosevic's work vibrates with exacting architectural line work juxtaposed against swathes of lush colors.
Milosevic pays special attention in her artworks to the city’s building structures and facades. She adds soothing silhouettes of people to emphasize a meaning of perspective, the flow of time, and speed of life. By combining architecture and urbanism with figures and crowds, Milosevic strives to make the viewer feel in the present moment and not in the past.
This one-of-a-kind 24 inch tall by 48 inch wide original artwork is created with acrylic paint on canvas. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area office and home delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Ivana Milosevic was born in Serbia in 1972. In 1998 she graduated from Belgrade University with a Master’s degree in Architecture. Since 2000 she has been practicing architecture in Municipality of Trstenik specializing in urban design and city planning. As a deputy Mayor of Trstenik, Ivana has transformed the city into a modern and contemporary living environment. Her passion for city planning and engaging public landscapes becomes visible in her painting.
“Through my professional practice, cityscapes are the main theme of my artworks. I explore the structure of the city, explore the construction, visual impressions, through various problems in the city. I put layers and layers of oil paint on canvas, trying to rebuild the parts and pieces; life and its beauty!”
Ivana Milosevic's paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally.
