This heavy … Read more 29.5" x 60" (5 foot) Original 1954 heavy cast iron large round pedestal base with customized table top. This heavy cast iron Knoll base was originally with a 54" marble top and produced in 1954. It has been used to support instead a custom made table top by Aaron Saxton in 2025. Radial Walnut has been sliced from a single Appalician log of Walnut and adorned to a solid walnut top. At 60" diameter, this table has a circumference of about 188" allowing about 24" for 8 people, or about 32" for 6 people (banquet size). Interestingly, given 24 pie sections were used to produce the top, this translates to either 3 or 4 "pie sections" per person. Finished in exceptionally durable finish, this table will not be marked by hot or cold beverages. A one-of-a-kind and something special for the right setting. A burnished and carved sun has been produced in the center s few inches wide, although this probably will be seldom seen with typically objects being placed in the middle. The base has been repainted also. Note that these bases are very heavy and offer exceptional support, whereas the modern bases are cast aluminum and significantly lighter. Inspired by the radial starburst doors I produce (see other listings). This table weights over 200 pounds. A special round support disc of wood is between the top and base to ensure full support. A round over of 1/4" exists all the way around the table. Only the base is signed by stamp numbers to the cast iron; the dining table top is not by Knoll. See less
