This Andy Warhol Foundation vintage offset lithograph print custom framed Pop Art poster " Flowers III " 1964, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The offset lithograph print poster is published by Wizard & Genius - Idealdecor A.G. Zurich, printed in Switzerland in 2001 in an unnumbered limited edition with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation / Art Resource Scala, Pro Litteris Zurich. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1964 titled " Flowers III ".
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
" Flowers III " is based on the " Flowers " silkscreens first exhibited by Warhol in 1964. Warhol experimented with color, layering and shadows, using different color schemes and painting the flowers in a multitude of vibrant palettes. The Flowers artworks were first exhibited at the famous Leo Castelli gallery in New York City in 1964. At the time, flowers were a refreshing departure from Warhol's previous artworks addressing mass culture and brands such as the Campbell's Soup Can, as flowers themselves are iconic and timeless, untethered to any particular Pop culture reference or idea.
The rare out of print framed offset lithograph Pop Art poster measures 25 1/4" W X 25 1/2" H X 1 1/4" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a classic Modern matte eggshell finish black wood museum box style molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with very light signs of handling.
