An exceptional 18th century French period Louis XV armoire handcrafted of indigenous old growth walnut and burled walnut in the typical technique mastered by the skilled artisans of France, circa 1750s. This large provincial armoire features a chapeau de gendarme crown above moulded, paneled doors in walnut and burled walnut with rare chinoiserie hinges, opening to reveal spacious storage with Three shelves and two drawers. Enough space for a television to hide behind doors. . Carved, shaped apron resting on short cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes on pegs. A narrow and beautiful piece with a lovely patina and lots of character.

- This beautiful armoire is in wonderful condition. it does have one repair on the right back leg but it was … moreThis beautiful armoire is in wonderful condition. it does have one repair on the right back leg but it was repaired many many years ago and is very sturdy There is small discoloration on the left facing side trim. Ask for pictures if you cannot see it clearly or want to know more. The inside is all original but one shelf has been slightly modified to house a television and a small grommet hole is cut in the back to accommodate cords. this rare armoire is otherwise in wonderful condition with a beautiful satin waxed finish. less
