Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern 4 bay shelving system model Cado. This is a original vintage floating bookcase designed by Danish architect Poul Cadovius.
Cadovius had the revolutionary idea to design a floating, modular shelving system that would maximize floor space and signify the end of conformity in shelving. He first designed the model Royal with brass shelf brackets and a few years later the model Cado with wooden shelf brackets. He also named the company Cado.
Versatile and flexible floating bookcase that allows for continuous rearranging to suit individual needs. Cabinets and shelves can be placed as desired.

This set consists of:
5 Uprights, length 202.5 cm
1 Chest of drawers, three drawers: 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm
1 Cabinet with drop down door, 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm
1 Magazine/display shelf, depth 30 cm
1 Shelf, depth 30 cm
9 Shelves, depth 22 cm

The drop down door cabinet is suitable as a bar cabinet or a secretary desk. The three drawer dresser module offers plenty of storage space in its wide drawers.

Stamped "Made in Denmark" on the back the shelves.

In very fine vintage condition with natural patina consistent with age and use. Few nicks and scratches and a darker area on the top of dresser module. All surfaces has been cleaned and polished, ready for use. Stunning Rosewood pattern. This piece has an attribution mark,
