This Helen Frankenthaler rare vintage 1990 limited edition custom framed Abstract Expressionist hand pulled original silkscreen serigraph print " Mary Mary " 1987, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Published by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, copyright Helen Frankenthaler / List Art Posters 1990. Printed by Brand X Editions on extra heavyweight archival paper stock with a matte finish. The rare original hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print was printed in a limited edition of 500, plate signed by the artist and unnumbered. The print features an artwork image originally created by Farnkenthaler in 1987 titled " Mary Mary ".
The print was created on the inaugural occasion of the opening of Lincoln Center's headquarters, The Samuel B. & David Rose Building. It includes The School of American Ballet, Juilliard School student residences, performance venues Walter Reade Theatre, Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse, Daniel and Johanna S. Rose rehearsal studio, Clark Studio Theater, and several Lincoln Center constituent offices.
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of postwar Modernist Painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades, spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of Arts in 2001. Artworks by Frankenthaler are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print large format limited edition framed hand pulled silkscreen serigraph print measures 33 1/2" W X 50 1/2" H X 1 1/4" D. It is custom framed with UV Protective plexiglass in a Contemporary matte eggshell finish white wood Modern museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
