Beautiful quarter sawn oak (1/4 or tiger oak) china cabinet / hutch / bookcase. Superior quality and workmanship.
Outstanding carved decorations of fruit coming out of a basket as well as other embellishments. A touch of Renaissance revival or Spanish revival design elements. These elements were meant to go in a Spanish style home of the 1930's.
An unusual bottom shape gives more interest and a 3 dimensional feel than simply a flat front. Beveled side panels and solid oak fluted shelves.
The top simply sits on the base and makes transportation in 2 parts easier.
It is an original Vintage piece that has been restored and not a later reproduction. Made probably in the 1930s when the earlier styles were reintroduced and labor for extremely high quality workmanship was still inexpensive.
It is an extremely versatile piece of furniture.
