The top of the finial and the ridged base is brass with the body of itl being in bronze finished tone. It's sturdy believe to be cast iron with a 4 inch square base. The piece is versatile as it could be used as a standalone, amongst bookshelves or atop a stack of books on a desk. Be sure to make this piece a keeper” in your home.
