Fabricated of cast grey metal coated in thick bronze, the piece has terrific character, finish, strength, and heft. Gravitas.

As a US Naval Officer, Barclay designed camouflage and posters for the service. Later, he was known for his illustrations and paintings, then home decor. He was MIA in 1943 when the USS-LST was torpedoed in the Solomon Building Islands.

Sourced from the only owner’s estate, a former British Military Officer, later a Diplomat, who acquired it in the US. It sat in his library in Great Britain for many years. See less
