Exquisitely hand-crafted in Genova, Italy in the mid-20th century, the important Mediterranean port city is located near the French border along the Italian Riviera in the Milan Turin Genoa region of Northwestern Italy, with strong Parisian trade ties and one time a French territory under Napoleonic rule, Northwestern Italy features a uniquely influenced French inspired furniture design.

Exceptionally executed in 18th century Louis XV / Louis XVI Transition period style, this fine quality antique reproduction features stunning rare and exotic tulipwood and kingwood marquetry and parquetry work throughout, topped with a shaped Rosa Verona Breccia Pernice marble slab with molded edge showcasing striking veining in deep reds, salmon, orangish browns, and cream whites, creating a bold, luxurious, dramatic presence, over conforming breakfronted solid wood case fitted with three dovetailed drawers, flanked by Neoclassical gilt bronze ormolu mounted canted corners, adorned in exquisite fruitwood ribboned floral and foliate marquetry, trompe-l'œil geometric cubed kingwood parquetry, highly figured tulipwood veneering and intricate cross-banding, outlined by satinwood string banding, above scalloped apron with pierced bronze mount, rising on transitional cabriole legs, terminating in sabots.

Signed / stamped, retaining the original "Bona Mobili Genoa" adhesive tag to back, with hand written "302"
