The pretty yellow double gourd shaped bottle is decorated with a two legged insect on both sides. I suppose it is an artistic liberty the painter took because there was no more room for more legs. However, what makes this bottle special in addition to the auspicious double gourd form are the three words on the bottle - GU YUE XUAN. Gu Yue Xuan was a ceramic studio inside the Forbidden City during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (CE 1736 - 1795.) It was known for producing high quality works. That is the reason why so many later works of art are attributed to this name.
The yellow bottle has a red stopper but no spoon. The Imperial Yellow is a highly desirable color ad the insect is quite lively.
