The hardcover book with matte eggshell finish laminated cover boards is a Bob Adelman Book published by Pantheon Books, printed in Italy in 1993 by ESB. Verona. It features an original romance story by author Tony Hendra with illustrations by Roy Lichtenstein, book designed by Samuel N. Antupit.

Roy Lichtenstein ( 1923 - 1997 ) the American born Pop artist of a Jewish background, is one of the most well known and loved worldwide Contemporary artists. During the 1960's along with Andy Warhol among others, he became a leading figure in the new Pop Art Movement. His work defined the premise of Pop Art through parody. Inspired by the comic strip, Lichtenstein produced precise composition often in a tongue in cheek manner. The artworks of Lichtenstein are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

This special book written by Tony Hendra with Lichtenstein Pop Art images are combined to tell the story of a young man named Brad who wants to fall in love, live in New York, and be an artist. Using 93 of Liechtenstein's 1960's artworks, the author follows a down-and-out New Jersey artist, Brad ( a subject from the 1964 painting " Him " ), detailing his love life and art world ambitions. The story is wry ( Brad is desperate to show his paintings to Leo Castelli, Lichtenstein's own art dealer ) and rather silly ( Hendra manages to fit all those paintings of weepy, jilted comic book blondes into the storyline ), but it is clever and endlessly amusing in this thrilling tale of creative struggle and romance.

The rare out of print 1st edition Pop Art book measures 9 1/4" W X 9 1/4" H X 5/8" D, with 98 pages. It features 93 offset lithograph print illustrations, an a list of plates.
