Description: Adorable 1940s Japanese crackle glazed porcelain desk lamp featuring a hand painted iridescent pink elephant with lucky upraised trunk, colorful … more Adorable 1940s Japanese crackle glazed porcelain desk lamp featuring a hand painted iridescent pink elephant with lucky upraised trunk, colorful blanket or 'jhul', and zen like rider on its original rectangular wood base. Marked on underside, Hand Paint, Made in Japan, TT. Lovely vintage clip-on parchment paper shade in soft pink and gold with chinoiserie motifs including a pagoda, bridge, boat, and cherry trees is included. The 'TT' logo represents the Takito Company in Japan, from the Taisho and Showa periods (1921-1941). Professionally restored with new wiring, push-thru socket for standard bulb, cord, plug, and new felt bottom.
