Description: This is a set of 6 Ceramica de Fajalauza platers. These are beautifully hand painted decorative pottery made in Granada, … more This is a set of 6 Ceramica de Fajalauza platers. These are beautifully hand painted decorative pottery made in Granada, Spain. The center of these platters feature a pomegranate design "granada" means pomegranate in Spanish. It is painted in vibrant lapis blue and emerald green in the traditional designs and then beautifully glazed. There have holes in the back to hang. These platters are in excellent vintage condition There could possibly be some minor imperfections, but none to point out. These platters are approximately plates 7.75 inches long and 6 inches across. These are perfect for dining or decor.

Ceramic from Granada Spain is referred to as Ceramica de Fajalauza. It gets its name from one of the six doors on the large wall surrounding the crafts quarters , the “albayzín”, of the city. Fajalauza ceramic has it's origin in the 16th century in Granada during the Mozarabe period and, the fantastic tradition is STILL in existence today! less
