These artisanal objects, often used as cocktail party … Read more Offered is a vintage 1960s decorative vitreous enamel on copper trinket dish. These artisanal objects, often used as cocktail party ashtrays or trinket dishes were popularized by the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and the craft studios such as Mesick Studios in California, a renowned artisan work-shop of the era. Earthy colors in crisp enamel baked on copper plate, typical of the 1950s and 1960s. The surface has shades of gold and tan swirl shaped pattern on a black background with dollops of apricot. The bottom has a matte glaze indigo blue with cream speckles. The copper rim peeks through the edges. As a decorative plate, it makes a lovely table objet, trinket dish (for keys, etc.), or displayed on a small easel.
