A pair of large hand painted ginger jars, Chinoiserie in style, by Maitland Smith.
The vases are decorated in rich colorful enamels, very fine workmanship characteristic of the late 19th Century. Complex and detailed wrap around scenes incorporating traditional and auspicious objects such as peaches. Adults and children feature as well as Chinese Gods / dieties in the sky. A celebratory scene.
Qianlong reign mark on underside in red together with Maitland Smith Ltd label.
Vintage 1980s.
The condition of these classic vases is excellent. Great decorator piece for the home.
