This Henri Matisse very rare vintage 1949 first edition lithograph print " Matisse : Dessins " collector's French Modern Art hardcover book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The hardcover book with subtle textured wrapped cover boards, embossed lithograph cover illustration, and dust jacket is published by Editions Des Deux Mondes, Paris.
The book of drawings and sketches by Matisse is the first volume in the " Dessins Des Grandes Maitres ( Drawings of The Great Masters ) Series. Edited and accompanied with an introduction essay in French language text by Maurice Malingue. Printed in France on October 12th, 1949, on the presses of L'Imprimerie Jemmapes, Paris. It features a monograph collection of the drawings artworks of the artist Henri Matisse.
Henri Matisse ( 1869 - 1954 ) the French born artist is known for both his sense of color and fluid aesthetic. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Picasso as one of the most important artists who helped to define and influence radical Contemporary Art of The Twentieth Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art. Artworks by Matisse rare included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
