This Paul Klee " The Masterworks " rare vintage 1988 first edition collector's hardcover Modern Art Book is a very special and unique book to add to your library collection. The hardcover book with cloth bound covers and dust jacket is published by Bracken Books London, printed in Hong Kong in 1988, authored by Constance Naubert Riser with an introduction by Gualtieri Di San Lazzaro.
Paul Klee ( 1879 - 1940 ) the Swiss born Modernist artist is among the exceptional artists of our times. He is attributed to creating some of the most original and colorful paintings of The 20th Century. Klee was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. His work reflects the ideas of Symbolism, Expressionism, Cubism, as well the simplicity of The Bauhaus designs. Artworks by Klee are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The 48 master art works included in this book attempt to locate the principal landmarks in his vast output as an artist. They enable us to see how the power and importance of paul Klee lie in one fundamental requirement: over and above all possible significations, the creation of the work must be an attempt " To make visible the proximity of the human to origin of things ".
The rare out of print 1st edition large format collector's Modern Art book measures 11 14/" W X 12" h X 3/4" D, with 144 pages. It is printed on premium paper stock, featuring 139 illustrations including 48 full color plates.
It is in very good vintage condition consistent with age, and light signs of handling and wear to the dust jacket cover.
