This Andy Warhol Foundation rare fine art offset lithograph print custom framed extra large Pop Art poster " Flower for Tacoma Dome " 1982, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The offset lithograph print is published by The McGaw Group, LLC., with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. It is printed in The United Kingdom in 2003 on subtle textured heavyweight archival watercolor paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1982 titled " Flower for Tacoma Dome ", copyright 2003 The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc.

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
On January 26, 1982, Andy Warhol Studio sent a letter to the powers that be in Tacoma, announcing : " Andy Warhol would like to see The Tacoma Dome as a large flower ". The letter was in response to solicitations from the city of Tacoma, seeking artist's input on decorative ideas for The Tacoma Dome an indoor multi-purpose arena in Tacoma, Washington. Warhol's proposal was one of the five finalists, but ultimately wasn't chosen.
The artwork " Flower for Tacoma Dome" 1982, reveals a softer, more intimate side of the artist and captures Warhol's fascination with the fragility, vibrancy, sensuality and beauty of flowers.
The framed extra large format Pop Art poster print measures 40 1/2" W X 39 7/8" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed matte eggshell finish navy blue wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with very light signs of handling.
