Late 19th Century European Victorian Kashmir Paisley Shawl.
Anglo Indian shawl textile handwoven in wool, natural dying colors, with Jacquard hand loom.
Head bordures with niches inspired by the Anglo Indian Kashmiri decorations showing all the colors used for overall pattern. Cashmere shawl in polychrome wool weave rectangular paisley shawl decorated with black reserves in the center, surrounded by scrolls, palmettes and stylized flowers, in red, orange, green, blue, and yellow. A very large collectible antique 19th century silk cashmere paisley throw shawl.
The decoration consisting of a radiating central black star predominately in warm shades of red with a black center.
Large silk cashmere black center with red, turquoise white mustard design meandering into borders, elongated, entwined borders, in red with black, green, white and turquoise, deep fringed gates at two long ends.

Condition: Many holes, repair and damages but still look great.
This Paisley Shawl is in fair condition, unwashed, with no fading, has few pin holes, when held up to light of a window and has numerous holes and tears. Some holes were already stitched.
Some of the colored fringes are missing on its two sides.
This elegant 1860's paisley shawl breathes with vibrance of old colors.
As with most antique and vintage items, there may be subtle imperfections adding to the inherent character and integrity of each piece. less
