This exquisite antique oil painting, dated 1914, features a distinguished portrait of Edwin Kiefer, meticulously rendered by celebrated artist Edwin Murray Mackay. Captured in a classic seated pose, Kiefer exudes stately elegance, his composed demeanor complemented by Mackay’s masterful use of light and shadow.
The subject is dressed in formal attire, with a tailored dark suit and red tie, and holds a walking cane, symbolizing poise and prominence. Mackay’s artistic technique highlights rich textures and a palette of deep tones juxtaposed with a moody green background, lending the composition depth and gravitas. The artist’s signature, visible in the bottom right corner, authenticates the work.
Presented in a gilded ornate frame, this portrait evokes early 20th-century craftsmanship and period charm, ideal for collectors of fine art, historic portraits, or Edwardian-era pieces.
