This is an elegant and refined pair of Italian benches, crafted from solid wood painted black with a high-gloss finish that highlights the intricate decorative carvings on the sides and crossbars. These richly adorned and distinctive details evoke classical floral motifs and volutes, typical of Baroque and Neo-Renaissance styles, suggesting a historical origin between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, specifically from 1890 to 1910, a time when Italy experienced a revival of past artistic styles. The seats are upholstered in high-quality, light-colored linen fabric, accented by a thick central strip of black velvet. This recent restoration was expertly carried out by a seasoned craftsman from Prato, who skillfully and precisely applied the new upholstery. This detail adds a touch of contemporary elegance, making the benches versatile enough to complement both classic and modern interiors.
