Originally purchased from Hong Kong, this Chinese antique embroidery presented in a museum quality. This textile was a roundel design likely from the center front of a noble woman's robe and it is dated to late Qing dynasty, circa late 19th century to early 20th century. With colored silk threads and different stitch techniques such as satin and Peking knots, it showcases a Kylin symbol surrounded by floral and butterfly in flowing robes, a motif very popular in Qing dynasty on woman's clothing. A golden wood frame protected the embroidery for easy and perfect display.
