This David Hockney very rare vintage 1996 lithograph print custom framed Tate Gallery iconic Pop Art poster " My Parents " 1977, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print museum poster is published by Tate Gallery Publishing, Milbank, London. Printed in 1996 in an unnumbered limited edition in Great Britain for The Trustees of The Tate Gallery by Westerham Press. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Hockney in 1977 titled " My Parents ", copyright Tate Gallery Publishing Ltd. 1996.

David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim internationally than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
In 1977 Hockney created one of his most praised and iconic artworks titled " My Parents ". The painting is poised between art and life, between Hockney's intellectual interests as a painter and his desire to put his parents before us. He completed the work after two failed attempts at painting his parents, Kenneth and Laura Hockney. Like an Old Masters paintings it is full of Symbolism. Their poses reflect their personalities, Laura is gazing at the viewer, Kenneth, known for fidgeting during sittings, is reading, as though he has forgotten he is being observed.
It is nostalgic for his childhood, for the simple and understandable world, and a declaration of his love for his parents. Hockney captured them wonderfully, their likeness of course, and it was also full of love and empathy, a truthful painting with all the characteristics of a true David Hockney masterpiece.
The rare out of print framed lithograph print Pop Art poster measures 25" W X 33" H X 7/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern teal turquoise blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
