An 18th century French Louis XV commode, or chest of drawers, from the Bordeaux region made of solid cherry wood with blue painted finish. Bombé form with serpentine front and sides and subtle carved details. Two dovetailed drawers with cast brass pulls. Hardware is not original, no keys. Excellent craftsmanship using pegged construction. Restored and painted in Toulouse on September 1, 1966. Pine as a secondary wood. Great form with nice proportions. Circa 1740-1760.
