Pennsylvania, circa 1800-1810's
A fine pair of Arrowback Windsor chairs. The back have a graceful rake to them. Poplar wood shaped seat, with the legs mortised through to the top of the seat, a trait typical of 18th century chairmaking. We feel these chairs are 1800-1810ish. A very nice old black painted surface, over a original tan or cream coloured paint. We feel the current painted surface is well over 100 years old.
Size: 16" wide, 14" deep, 33" tall, and a 17" seat height.
Condition: old black paint over the original paint. No restorations of repairs. Lots of great wear, and patina. Use are wear marks associated with age and use. Loss to the painted surface from age and use. less
