This Andy Warhol rare vintage 1986 limited edition large fine art lithograph print " Pepsi-Cola " 1962, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art lithograph print is published by The Carnegie Museum of Art ( CMOA ) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the city of Warhol's birthplace. Printed in a series of limited edition color lithograph prints by the museum in 1986. The print is signed in the plate, hand numbered 1451/2400 from the edition of 2400, CMOA stamp on the reverse back side. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1962 titled " Pepsi-Cola ".
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
The " Pepsi-Cola " image first created bY Warhol in 1962, is one of the artist's most coveted artworks. Although Warhol's brand image borrowings represent a specific limited segment of his work during this period, they include some of the most iconic artworks of The Early Sixties. Between 1962 and 1964, Warhol had four solo exhibitions in The United States, two of which were devoted exclusively to brand image artworks, Campbell's Soup, Coca-Cola, Brillo Boxes, and Pepsi-Cola, among others.
These artworks have remained central to his reputation and oeuvre since they were first exhibited. The " Pepsi-Cola " artwork demonstrated his interest in the role of advertising and consumerism in popular culture. The social significance of these iconic images were not simply a means to sell products, but has become and integral part of American Pop Culture. Truly quintessential perfect subjects for iconic Warhol art works.
The rare out of print large lithograph print measures 23 5/8" W X 23 1/2" H. It is printed on high quality heavyweight premium paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish.
