This Chinese carved panel from the first half of the 20th century features a carved bird and pine tree motif. The piece was carved then covered with a red paint, which served as a base layer for the gilding. Finally, gilt paint was applied. This carving depicts a bird of prey amid a group of cranes with pine trees as a backdrop. Attached is a decorative Chinese hanging device.
Dimensions: 10” width, 2.25” depth, 26” height
