They originally … more This is a set of 2 matted French Art Deco fashion prints for the fashionista on the slope. They originally appeared in a haute couture fashion magazine that dates to 1927. These images showcase the most chic fashion couture designs for the woman who loves to ski. Illustrated and signed by the artist, Leon Benigni. Benigni's work exemplified the Art Deco style which used elongated lines, understated glamour and a hint of adventure. These features are characteristic of the 1920’s. Benigni was a highly respected illustrator and lithographer who did extensive work in fashion illustration. He was commissioned to do fashion illustrations for some of the most famous names in fashion design such as Chanel, Lucien Lelong, and Patou. His work appeared in high society fashion magazines with Parisienne clientele. These prints are prime examples of his work. They are crisp and pristine with intense clarity. Note the strong prominence of the figure in proportion to the mountains. They each measure 4.75 x 10.25 inches in size; each comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat that works with a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
